Gurgaon: A 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death with a knife by three men outside a hotel near Badarpur border in Faridabad on the intervening night of April 9-10.The victim, Sachin Mehra, worked as a technician in a hospital and was a resident of Surya Vihar. While all three attackers managed to flee initially, the main accused, Sunny, a resident of Badoli in Palwal who lives in Faridabad, has been arrested.An officer said Sunny was chasing a woman to marry her, but she had refused his proposal. Still, he kept stalking her. He first visited a different place but could not find her.He later found out that she was staying at Red Lion Hotel on Mathura Road. He went there to inquire about her, but the hotel staff asked him to leave as they could not share any details about the guests.Angered, Sunny called two of his friends to threaten the staff. The trio had a heated argument with the hotel manager. When the situation turned violent, Mehra—a friend of the manager who often visited the hotel—hit Sunny with a stick to drive them away. In response, the trio allegedly stabbed Mehra multiple times with a knife, leaving him severely injured and fled from the spot.Mehra was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.Based on his father Mohan Singh’s complaint, a murder case was filed against the trio at Sarai Khwaja police station. The investigation was handed over to crime branch DLF, following which Sunny was arrested while a hunt for the other two accused is on.Varun Kumar Dahiya, ACP (crime-II), said the accused will be presented before the court on Saturday and will be taken on police remand.
