New Delhi: Nearly a week after Rs 15 lakh was robbed on the Dwarka Expressway, police have arrested three men in the case.Police said the robbery was reported on April 6 near Sector-22, Dwarka, where the accused allegedly targeted the victim on the expressway and fled with the cash. A case was registered at Dwarka Sector-23 police station.Investigators formed a team and began probing the case. The first breakthrough came with the arrest of Sandeep (29), a resident of Hari Nagar.DCP (dwarka) Kushal Pal Singh said, “During interrogation, Sandeep disclosed the involvement of his associate Santosh Mehto (29), who was later tracked down and arrested from a hotel in Nangloi. Police recovered Rs 10 lakh from his possession, along with a mobile phone allegedly purchased using the robbed money.”Further leads pointed to a third accused, Suraj Sonkar (23), a resident of Sadar Bazar, who was subsequently apprehended. Police recovered around Rs 2 lakh from him and also identified the scooty used in the commission of the crime.In total, nearly Rs 12 lakh of the stolen amount has been recovered. Further investigation to trace the remaining amount.
