A major traffic gridlock brought large parts of Noida to a standstill after factory workers staged protests demanding higher wages and raising labour-related concerns, severely impacting daily commuters and intercity travel between Delhi and Noida. The incident started at the start of the day when demonstrators blocked some roads in Phase 2, causing heavy traffic in many sectors. The areas that faced more problems included the busy road between Film City and Mahamaya, which made people travel for more than an hour just to cover a distance of four kilometers.
Those who traveled through the DND Flyway faced many challenges because it is one of the most important routes connecting Delhi to Noida. The traffic was at a very slow pace since the demonstrators were blocking some areas on the road.

Peak-hour chaos hits daily commuters
As per a report published by NDTV, heavy traffic was noticed from various important locations, such as Sector 62 and Noida Phase 2. A huge number of passengers faced difficulties due to the same during working hours, and there were many people who used social networking sites to vent out their anger as well as ask about what is going on.Some people suggested immediate intervention from concerned authorities to resume the traffic flow again. At the same time, others suggested fellow passengers to use alternate routes rather than going through the routes where heavy traffic had been witnessed.
Authorities scramble to manage the situation
Representatives from the Noida Police and Delhi Police forces were called into service at various points to handle the situation. Traffic officials implemented diversions in order to ensure the movement of vehicles from one point to another in a bid to ease the pressure. It is noted that it was not easy to get the situation under control due to the large number of vehicles and the road being blocked. The management of traffic was difficult because of the combination of the office rush hours and demonstrations taking place. As per the PTI report, workers from a trade union based in Uttar Pradesh assembled themselves close to the Delhi-Noida border and blocked part of the roads.
Travel disruptions ripple across NCR
The ensuing traffic gridlock also had an impact on travels within the National Capital Region with key roads connecting Noida to Delhi being severely affected by traffic congestion, making life difficult not only for locals commuting from one point to another but also for those traveling for business, tourism, and other similar reasons. In most cases, a journey that would otherwise have taken no more than a few minutes became quite a long and tedious one. Other forms of transportation such as app-based cabs, delivery service, and public transportation were also adversely affected.
