Panaji: Goa police on Monday arrested Sweth Gaude, 23, a resident of Pale, in connection with the murder of his friend, Tanvi Gadi. Gaude was produced before the judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) and was remanded in four-day police custody.Police said the incident occurred around 5.30pm when a group of five friends visited a friend’s relative’s house in a remote area of Sanguem. After lunch, the group went to a rear room where a loaded, locally made gun was kept. Gadi reportedly picked up the firearm and later handed it to Gaude, who was part of the group.Unaware that the gun was loaded, Gaude pulled the trigger and the bullet struck Gadi in the neck, resulting in her death on the spot.
