Chatra admin inks pact with CCL, NTPC for development of Birhor homes, anganwadi centres.

Chatra: The district administration on Wednesday inked agreements with Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and NTPC for repairing houses of families hailing from a particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) and building model anganwadi centers across the district.The PSUs will invest in these projects as a part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives.A memorandum of understanding (MoU) were inked with Chandragupta coal project of CCL for repairing the houses of 28 Birhor families in Itkhori block. The project is expected to cost Rs 28.2 lakh.Similarly, the Tandwa unit of NTPC will help in the development of 25 anganwadi centers across Chatra, Simaria, Tandwa, Hunterganj and Itkhori blocks in the first phase. The centers will then be upgraded into model anganwadis at an estimated cost of Rs 1.08 crore. Officials said that the upgraded centers will offer improved nutrition, early childhood education and healthcare services to women and children, along with better infrastructure and modern facilities.Chatra deputy commissioner Keerthishree G said, “Both the projects would be implemented in a time-bound manner with strict quality monitoring. Departments concerned have been directed to ensure coordination and regular supervision so that benefits reach the targeted beneficiaries effectively.”
