Patna: The first NDA government led by the BJP in Bihar is scheduled to take its oath of office on Wednesday. As the guessing game over the new CM continued on Monday, the focus shifted to the BJP’s point man and deputy CM Samrat Choudhary. Top JD(U) leaders and officials called on him at his official residence to discuss details of the swearing-in and the format of the new govt to be in place on Wednesday.Prominent among those who met Samrat included Gopal Meena, secretary to the governor; Deepak Kumar, secretary to chief minister Nitish Kumar; JD(U) national working president Sanjay Kumar Jha; Union minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh and senior BJP MP Radha Mohan Singh. Radha Mohan said the new CM’s name has been finalized and will be announced on Tuesday. “NDA is the present and future of Bihar,” he said.However, BJP leaders said Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will take out the “slip out of his pocket” to announce the BJP legislature party leader, who will be the next Bihar CM. Chouhan, who has been made the BJP central observer to facilitate the smooth transition of power and seat his party leader in the CM’s chair for the first time in Bihar on Wednesday, will hold a BJP legislature party meeting on Tuesday. This will take place before Nitish Kumar submits his resignation to the governor and the new NDA leader stakes claim to form the govt. The swearing-in ceremony is to be held at Lok Bhavan the next day.
