Daltonganj: A 42-year-old woman sustained bullet injuries to her thigh, and her husband was hurt when they were attacked by bike borne miscreants in the district on Monday. The miscreants robbed the couple of Rs 3 lakh cash, a laptop and other documents before fleeing the scene.Shama Parveen, who runs a customer service point of Bank of Baroda (BoB) in Hutar, was traveling from her home in Barwadih on a bike which was being driven by her husband Israfel Ansari (52). The couple’s bike was around 200 yards from their CSP when they were intercepted by two masked men on a bike.They hit Israfel with the butt of a pistol in his forehead, snatched the bag containing the money and fired six rounds while escaping. Two bullets struck Shama’s thigh. The couple were admitted to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital in Daltonganj, where they are out of danger.Senior manager BoB in its Daltonganj branch, Sneh Darshi Singh Ravi said, “We are looking into the matter. Shama had not withdrawn any cash from the Daltonganj BoB branch on Monday.” DSP Rajeev Ranjan said on the other hand said that the miscreants had their faces covered which indicated that it was a premeditated crime. “They will be nabbed soon,” he said.
