Tamil Nadu election 2026: Don't believe in DMK's hate campaign, Annamalai says

SALEM/NAMAKKAL: Former BJP state president K Annamalai on Monday appealed to Christian and Muslim voters not to believe in DMK’s “hate campaign” and claimed that the BJP govt at the Center governed the country with national interest. While campaigning for AIADMK-BJP alliance candidate S Sadasivam of PMK in Salem North assembly, Annamalai alleged that there was no progress under DMK rule and cited bad roads and open sewerage in local bodies ruled by the party. Annamalai alleged that there was misgovernance in the Salem Municipal Corporation and said property tax had increased by 275% without corresponding development or basic amenities. Later, while speaking at a rally in Rasipuram for BJP candidate D Premkumar, Annamalai said Tamil Nadu was awaiting a historic election. Annamalai said Premkumar had conducted medical camps in more than 700 places across Tamil Nadu in the last two years and expressed confidence that the people of Rasipuram would ensure the success of “a man who works with the people in the field.”He alleged that the DMK government had not provided proper bus facilities in the Rasipuram area in the last five years.
