Gurgaon: A fire that broke out in a vacant plot behind residential houses in South City II on Monday morning spread to nearby flats, damaging stored goods, though no casualties were reported.According to fire officials, the blaze started in shanties and stored belongings in the plot and quickly intensified, sending flames and thick smoke into the surrounding area. Goods kept on the ground and first floors of two flats were gutted before the fire was brought under control.Information about the incident was received around 11.20am, following which multiple teams were rushed to the spot. Three fire tenders from Sector 28 fire station and one each from Bhim Nagar and DLF were deployed.Firefighters faced difficulty due to the intensity of the blaze and had to press additional resources to prevent it from spreading to adjacent buildings. The operation continued for nearly two-and-a-half hours before the fire was contained.Residents reported panic as dense smoke spread through the locality, with some experiencing breathing discomfort.Officials said no injuries were reported. Cooling operations were underway to prevent any flare-up.
