Filmmaker Osgood Perkins and actor Nicolas Cage are reuniting for a new “Longlegs” film.The upcoming film is being described as a new “Longlegs” film rather than being a sequel to the 2024 release, and is set to have Perkins and Cage as producers. The director will also write the script, according to the entertainment news outlet The Hollywood Reporter.Other producers on the film are Brian Kavanaugh Jones, producing under Range Media, Chris Ferguson, Perkins’ partner at their company Phobos, and Dave Caplan of C2, which financed the initial movie.Paramount has picked up the rights for the project, the plot of which is kept under wraps.The first film went on to earn over USD 100 million at the global box office against its reported USD 10 million budget.Set in the 1990s, the horror thriller revolved around Lee Harker (Maika Monroe), a talented, intuitive FBI rookie assigned to a cold-case serial killer known as Longlegs (Cage).
