Cristiano Ronaldo caused concern among fans after leaving the field late during Al Nassr’s narrow 1-0 win over Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League. The Portuguese star was substituted in the 89th minute and walked straight down the tunnel instead of joining his teammates on the bench, raising fears of another injury setback. The win took Al Nassr to 76 points, strengthening their position at the top of the table. With just five matches left this season, the club is now closing in on its first league title since the 2018–19 campaign. Ronaldo’s sudden exit, however, briefly overshadowed what was otherwise a crucial victory in their title charge.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s condition clarified after his late exit
Al Nassr manager Jorge Jesus quickly addressed concerns after the match and confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo was not injured. Instead, the striker had been dealing with stomach discomfort that started around halftime. Despite feeling unwell, Ronaldo chose to continue playing in the second half and tried to help his team secure all three points.According to the coach, Ronaldo experienced cramps in his stomach during the break but still returned to the field with determination. He pushed through the discomfort and stayed involved until the closing minutes of the game. However, once he was substituted, the situation worsened, and he went directly to the dressing room where he vomited.Jorge said, “He felt stomach cramps between the two halves. He played the second half and insisted on continuing, but then went to the dressing room and vomited after going inside”. Although the incident looked worrying, the issue is not expected to keep him out for long. Ronaldo later showed no signs of concern about the result and shared a positive message on social media, celebrating the team’s victory and praising the fans for their support. The 39-year-old had only recently returned from a hamstring injury that kept him out for nearly a month. He marked his comeback in style earlier this month with two goals in a convincing 5-2 win over Al-Najma, reminding everyone of his importance to the squad. With Al Nassr now eight points ahead of Al Hilal, the focus will be on maintaining momentum. Ronaldo’s fitness will remain key as the team looks to finish the job and lift the Saudi Pro League trophy.
