Son held for killing father, uncle after drunken brawl in Nawada

New Delhi: Three days after two brothers were found dead at their home in southwest Delhi’s Nawada, the 22-year-old son of the elder brother has been arrested for allegedly murdering them during a heated quarrel.The deceased were identified as Devender Kumar (50), a storekeeper, and Amit (48), who were found lying dead inside a ransacked room with liquor bottles spread around.Inquiry revealed that a quarrel broke out inside the house after the two consumed alcohol along with Devender’s son, Ishwar (22). Ishwar, who allegedly absconded after the incident, was identified as the suspect, and a case was registered at Uttam Nagar police station.DCP (Dwarka) Kushal Pal Singh said, “The post-mortem reports revealed that the deaths were caused by internal injuries sustained during physical assault.” The house owner told cops that he rented out the property to Devender for Rs 9,000 a month. He moved into the property around two weeks ago with his brother and son.Last Friday, around 11.30 pm, the owner received information that the new tenants were involved in an altercation. He decided to confront them. The door was reportedly opened by Ishwar, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. He told cops that he reasoned with Ishwar and urged him not to pick a quarrel before returning home.Ishwar was arrested on Tuesday at Mohan Garden. He told cops that the quarrel broke out after his father got angry with him for being unemployed.
