Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12, Sunday at Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai at the age of 92. The legendary singer was rushed to the hospital on Saturday due to chest infection and respiratory problems. Her son Anand Bhosle has confirmed the news. The last rites will be performed tomorrow at 4 pm at Shivaji Park.”Asha Bhosle’s sister Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral was also held at the iconic Shivaji Park in Dadar, with full state honours. Fans are now mourning her demise and several celebs have also started pouring tributes for the late singer. Jamie Lever wrote, “My heart aches as I write this. 🙏🏽💔I’ve always been an admirer of her artistry, and for much of my journey, I found myself inspired by her voice and style, I was so fascinated by her singing that I just naturally started mimicking her. People love the resemblance/impersonation, but the truth is there can only ever be one Asha ji.Watching her live at Shanmukhananda Hall was unforgettable. Even then, her voice, charm, and energy lit up the stage- I became an even bigger fan.I always wished to meet her, but that won’t be possible now. She would have pulled my cheeks, maybe 1 slap or said something like ‘pagal ladki’ I would happily accept..As I’ve said before, “aap hain toh hum hain.” A part of who I am “chhoti Asha ji” exists because of her.” Just 4 days ago, Tabu had dropped photos with the veteran singer. It was my birthday in November and there it was, through my door..this beauty ..this guitar..Ashaji’s gift to me.Words could never hold the gratitude I feel..I love and admire you more than I can say, Ashaji..Through your songs we felt love and longing..pain and passion..I will hold on to this for life and someday soon I hope I can play your songs to you on this.”
