No mandate for next CM, says Tejashwi
In a heated response to the NDA’s recent government formation in Bihar, opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav articulated his concerns about the legitimacy of the new Chief Minister. He argues that this leader lacks a true public mandate and is merely a puppet in a larger power game.

Patna: Leader of opposition in state assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, on Sunday mocked the NDA’s efforts to form a new government in the state, saying whoever becomes CM lacks the people’s mandate. He also claimed CM Nitish Kumar was apprehensive about being removed midway and “that moment has already arrived”.Speaking to reporters in Patna, Yadav said the question of who becomes the next CM “doesn’t hold any meaning” as it will be decided by “two persons”, alleging the government will function through “remote control”. He alleged the decision to remove Kumar was taken in Delhi.“But whoever becomes the next CM, the people of Bihar are least interested,” he said, adding the new CM would not enjoy a public mandate. He also questioned governance, alleging no cabinet meeting had been held in the past two months and that the state was “moving backwards”.Yadav claimed Kumar had long feared removal, which prompted his exit from the NDA in 2022. “That was the reason, he walked out of the NDA and joined the Grand Alliance in 2022. Just note JD(U) is now finished,” he said, expressing sympathy over the “farewell” to a leader who served 20 years.“Now within 2-3 months the government is changing the government and forming a new government. Is that what you heard?” he said, criticizing the political developments.Targeting LJP (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan, he alleged the leader acted to “save his own chair”.Alleging corruption, Yadav said over Rs 158 crore was spent on musical instruments in schools despite the absence of trained teachers, calling the expenditure unjustified.
