NASHIK: Amruta Fadnavis, wife of CM Devendra Fadnavis, said on Friday that cases of alleged exploitation of women staff had taken place during her stint at Axis Bank. The duo was lodged in Nashik Road Central Prison under judicial custody after their police remand in two cases had ended.The special investigation team (SIT), which is probing all nine cases, obtained their custody from jail on Wednesday through a production warrant in connection with a third case among the four registered against them. They were produced before the court on Thursday, which granted further custodial remand.A 4-year pattern: Why repeated allegations have widened the scope of TCS Nashik investigationThe Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case has stated that the incidents span from 2022 to early 2026, suggesting a prolonged pattern rather than isolated complaints.According to the FIRs, women employees have alleged repeated instances in which accused colleagues stared at their bodies during meetings and made sexual remarks about their appearance and personal lives.In several complaints, the accused are said to have deliberately touched women, including their hands and feet, under the guise of casual interaction. In other cases, they allegedly attempted to maintain physical proximity despite clear expressions of discomfort by the victims.Some complainants have also alleged that they were followed within office premises, subjected to persistent staring, and approached with inappropriate proposals.Others said they were asked intrusive questions about their personal and marital lives, including comments related to not having children.In one case, an accused allegedly made gestures towards a woman’s private parts and repeatedly stared at her chest, causing humiliation during workplace interactions.In another, a woman alleged that despite her objections, she was subjected to persistent advances and obscene conversations.
