The Blazers are prepared to make a pitch for Giannis Antetokounmpo as long as he is willing to sign an extension but are not likely to limit their options to Lillard’s former Milwaukee teammate.” In 2023, Giannis agreed to a $186 million, three-year contract deal that included a player option for the 2027–2028 campaign. Giannis spent two seasons with Lillard, who hasn’t played for the Blazers since injuring his left Achilles tendon during the 2024 NBA playoffs with the Bucks.
