Rain, thunderstorm likely to bring relief from heat till Tuesday: Met
Jharkhand can finally breathe again as a cool down is on the horizon with rain and thunderstorms set to roll in this Sunday, bringing relief to 18 districts. Forecasters have issued yellow and orange warnings for potentially severe weather conditions, including hail and blustery winds in the northeastern and central parts of the state.

Ranchi: The state will get some respite from the ongoing heatwave conditions in the next few days with moderate rain and thunderstorm likely at isolated places in 18 districts from Sunday, the Met office said on Saturday. On Monday, light to moderate rain and thunderstorm is likely at a few places.

The weather office also issued a yellow warning of thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at isolated places over northeastern and adjoining central parts of the state such as Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Giridih, Jamtara, Dhanbad and Bokaro districts from Saturday onwards.For Sunday, it issued an orange warning of hailstorms accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (50-60 kmph) at isolated places over north-eastern and adjoining central parts of the state such as Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Giridih and Bokaro. Thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are likely at isolated places over the rest of the state too, it added.On Monday and Tuesday, similar situation will prevail at isolated places over north-eastern and central parts of the state. “All these conditions will help in bringing down the maximum temperature by a couple of degrees across the state,” deputy director of Met office, Abhishek Anand, said.At 43.6 degrees Celsius, Daltonganj recorded the highest daytime temperature in the past 24 hours. Ranchi recorded 39.6 degrees Celsius while Jamshedpur recorded 41.1 degrees Celsius.
