Sara Gore, the beloved host of NBC New York’s real estate show ‘Open House’ and lifestyle show ‘New York Live’, announced on air that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The 49-year-old made the emotional announcement during the Thursday, April 30 episode of ‘New York Live’, telling viewers she would be stepping away for treatment and surgery.“It just felt right to tell you myself. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and I’m going to be stepping away for treatment and surgery,” she said. “If I didn’t say that I was a little bit scared, I’d be lying.”

I always assumed this day would come. I wasn’t ready for that. That actually really surprised me. Sara said, “I am exactly where I need to be, and I’m surrounded by incredible doctors, and people who are taking such good care of me at home, thank you,” she said.
