A roadside moment involving a foreign biker and a few strangers on an Indian highway is going viral online, and many people on social media are calling it a reminder of the kindness travelers often come across during long journeys. The video, shared on Instagram, has drawn attention not because of anything dramatic, but because of how ordinary and genuine the interaction felt. The clip features Dutch biker and content creator Meike Hijman, who is currently traveling solo across India on her motorcycle. During one of her rides, her journey was interrupted after her bike developed a flat tire on the highway.
A smooth journey suddenly paused
As seen in the now-viral video, Hijman was in the middle of her ride when she realized there was an issue with her motorcycle tyre. Since she did not have the tools or experience to repair it herself, she was left stranded on the road for some time.Soon after, three local men stopped to help her. The men checked the tyre, filled air in it and offered to take her to a mechanic so the issue could be fixed. In the video, Hijman says, “Today’s ride was going really well, but now it’s not. Now, this guy’s gonna fill up the air and these guys, they will bring me to a mechanic.”She also added, “They stopped for me on the highway, and they told me to follow them.”The clip further shows one of the men locating the leak in the tire while helping her continue her trip.
Social media users praise the gesture
The Instagram video has gained thousands of views and received hundreds of reactions from users online. Many viewers said the clip reflected the helpful nature of people travelers often meet during road trips. Several users also pointed out that positive interactions like these are often overlooked online. One user commented, “Wish you a happy, safe and very satisfied journey. I hope you carry good memories to remember. Love from India.”Another wrote, “Most people in India are decent and great. There are always the bad apples in the basket, making the whole basket bad.”A third user said, “I’m so happy to see you getting help from these strangers in India! While I should be surprised with this, it’s always tough with negative news all the time.”Disclaimer: This article is based on information and visuals shared publicly on Instagram and user reactions posted online.
