Apple is expected to unveil its 2026 iPhone lineup later this year in September. According to reports, the company may unveil Pro models – iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max along with its first foldable iPhone during the fall event. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is likely to be the most expensive phone under the iPhone 18 series offering high-end cameras, processor and battery. iPhone 18 Pro Max expected design
On the design front, early CAD drawings suggest a smaller Dynamic Island for iPhone 18 Pro Max. This may free up additional screen space, a Macworld report says. There are also indications of refinements to the rear camera layout and improved color matching between the glass back and metal frame.

The report cited supply chain leaks to claim that the new model may feature a darker, more muted finish compared to previous generations, with a shade called “Dark Cherry” likely to be the highlight. Apple is reportedly testing multiple color options internally that include Light Blue (Pantone 2121), Dark Cherry (Pantone 6076), Dark Gray (Pantone 426C), and Silver (Pantone 427C). The Dark Cherry finish is described as a deep, wine-like red, differing from brighter tones seen in earlier models.The report notes that these colors are still under development and may not all make it to the final lineup. Apple has previously tested colors internally that were later dropped before launch.
iPhone 18 Pro Max expected processor
Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, which will be the company’s first processor manufactured using a 2nm process, is expected to power the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Additionally, the chip will employ “Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module” (WMCM) packaging, making it more compact, powerful, and energy-efficient than earlier iterations.Furthermore, Apple may switch from third-party chips to its own modem for the first time in the Pro models.
