NEW DELHI: External affairs minister S Jaishankar Wednesday underlined India’s strong commitment to safe and unimpeded transit passage of maritime shipping, saying attacks on merchant shipping were completely unacceptable.The minister gave vent to India’s concerns related to merchant shipping disruptions in Strait of Hormuz, while participating in a meeting convened by Japan to discuss supply chain disruptions in energy markets.“Global growth demands that energy markets are not constricted. As a major energy consumer, India will work with like-minded partners to develop supply chain resilience,” said Jaishankar in a post on X.He was participating in the Asia Zero Emission Community Plus Online Summit on Energy Resilience that was convened by Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi.
