Lucknow: Denmark’s Ambassador to India, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, on Friday called on chief minister Yogi Adityanath and discussed prospects of investment, technology cooperation and partnerships across several key sectors in Uttar Pradesh.Highlighting UP as one of the fastest-growing economies in the country, the CM said dedicated sectoral policies, strong law and order and modern infrastructure had created a favorable environment for investors. Inviting Danish companies to invest in the state, Yogi assured full government support, simplified approval processes and a secure investment climate.The CM said collaboration with Denmark in sectors such as the Defense Corridor, renewable energy, waste-to-energy, water management, skill development, infrastructure and healthcare would be mutually beneficial. He expressed confidence that such partnerships would boost employment generation, technology transfer and sustainable development in UP.The Ambassador said UP had witnessed extensive transformation over the past nine years and had emerged as a major investment destination. “Earlier, UP had limited presence in investment discussions about India, but today it has established itself prominently. The state’s population, skilled human resources and strong infrastructure are key strengths,” he said.Kristensen expressed keen interest in the Defense Corridor, noting Denmark’s expertise in the defense sector and the willingness of Danish companies to invest and collaborate on technology. He also highlighted Denmark’s experience in waste-to-energy and renewable energy sectors, including solar power, hydrogen technologies and compressed biogas.On waste management and water conservation, the Ambassador said work was underway on a river rejuvenation and water purification project with IIT (BHU), and that he would soon visit Varanasi.Education, skill development, agriculture and food processing were also discussed as potential areas of cooperation, including agri-tech, food processing and supply chain management.
