Minister warns officials against wrongdoing, corruption
Bihar’s Revenue Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal issued a stern warning to corrupt officials, vowing swift action and jail time for wrongdoers. He emphasized the government’s commitment to prompt, transparent land services and public accountability. The minister highlighted ongoing digitalization efforts to enhance transparency and reduce manipulation in land records, aiming to make the revenue department a trusted institution for citizens.

Patna: Revenue and land reforms department minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal warned on Saturday that officials involved in corruption and wrongdoing in the system should beware, otherwise there will now be direct action and the guilty will end up behind bars.Jaiswal also warned: “Wrongdoers will go to jail. The govt’s priority is to provide the general public with prompt and transparent services regarding land-related matters. Accountability towards the public will be strictly enforced; negligence or corruption will not be tolerated.”Jaiswal, a second-time minister of this department, further said, “Hope I do not have to speak any further… otherwise, havoc will ensue. Strict action will be taken against officers and employees within the system who engage in wrongdoing. If necessary, they will even be sent to jail.”The minister told reporters that any challenges existing within the department would be transformed into opportunities to render the entire system completely transparent.He said the government aims for the revenue department to become a trustworthy institution for the public, ensuring that citizens benefit from a transparent system. The government is now working rapidly to make the revenue administration completely digital and transparent, he said.“Currently, almost all land-related records are securely available, and the scope for any form of manipulation has been significantly reduced. Clear directives have recently been issued to departmental officials to expedite action on matters such as land disputes, ‘dakhil-kharij’, land mutations, and encroachments. Arrangements must be ensured to spare the public the inconvenience of making unnecessary rounds of govt offices,” he said.
