I am sure everyone thinks the same about their mom. My Amma is a very peaceful person. She never even scolded us, but still, we obeyed her and did things accordingly. My dad was a stricter parent during our childhood days and it was Amma who would always stand as a buffer between us and him. So, if I wanted to ask or get permission from dad, Amma would tell him. But after our school days, dad started to treat us as pals. They might have practiced the ‘good cop – bad cop’ method, I guess,”Why Tovino Thomas avoided cousins’ sleepoversThe actor also shared a touching childhood memory that reflects how attached he was to his mother. Even during school vacations, he preferred staying at home rather than spending nights with relatives.He furher said, “As a child, I was so reluctant to leave home. During the vacations, when my siblings went for a stay over at a cousin’s place, I used to stay back at home, because I would miss my Amma,”Amma – A constant source of positivityTovino said that one of his mother’s most remarkable qualities is her ability to remain calm and positive in every situation. According to him, she rarely complained and never lost her temper, despite raising energetic and mischievous children.“I have never heard Amma complaining about a thing. Although I and my siblings were high spirited and a bit naughty, Amma always maintained her state of Zen. She is full of positivity. I have never seen her losing her temper,” Tovino Thomas adds.The actor also emphasizes that his mother has always trusted the decisions he made and supported him. “Even when I spoke about the girl I loved, Amma didn’t think about what others or the society would say. All she wanted to know was if I was happy with the person I chose,” the actor recalled.Athiradi set for releaseOn the professional front, Tovino Thomas will next be seen alongside Basil Joseph in ‘Athiradi’. The much-awaited film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 14.
