Youth shot at over trivial issue in Buxar

Buxar: A 17-year-old boy was shot at over a trivial issue at Ekauna village under Simari police station area of ​​Buxar district on Wednesday.The victim, Manish Yadav, son of Harendra Yadav and a resident of Ekauna village, sustained severe gunshot injuries. He was initially rushed to a private hospital in Buxar by family members, where his condition remained critical, and was later shifted to Varanasi for better treatment.According to police, the victim’s family accused Raunak Tiwari, son of Ganesh Tiwari and a resident of Dubauli village, of firing at Manish. The accused is currently absconding. Both youths were known to each other.At the time of the incident, Manish was riding towards Dubauli from Ekauna on his motorcycle, while Raunak was heading towards Ekauna from his village. The two crossed paths during the journey. It is alleged that Manish made a remark over a certain issue, which angered Raunak. In response, Raunak allegedly pulled out a pistol from his waist, fired at Manish, and fled the spot.On receiving information about the incident, family members and locals rushed to the spot and took the injured to a hospital for treatment.Buxar SP Shubham Arya said, “Villagers claimed that the accused is a drug addict and frequently gets into disputes with people over trivial matters. We are investigating the matter, and efforts have been intensified to arrest the accused.”
