WrestleMania 42 was back in the Allegiant Stadium for the second night of The Show of Shows. The event kicked off with John Cena once again welcoming the audience, and then a huge collision between two dominant forces. Following that, the show saw some classic in-ring showdowns and moments. Finally, WrestleMania Sunday was capped off with the main event showdown that saw Roman Reigns defeat CM Punk and become the World Champion after two years.
Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi
This was the opening match for WrestleMania Sunday. Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi clashed in a major match. Despite being a newcomer, Femi showed fierceness against The Beast and did not back down. Following a hellicious in-ring encounter, the ending saw Femi counter the F-5 and take down Lesnar with the Fall From Grace to win the match. After that, Lesnar left his boots and gloves in the ring and shared an emotional moment with Paul Heyman, hinting at retirement.
Six-Pack Challenge Ladder Match
Penta defended his WWE Intercontinental title against Rey Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Rusev, Je’Von Evans, and Dragon Lee. It was a highly classic ladder match that saw jaw-dropping spots, feats, and moves executed by all superstars. In the final moments, Penta hit the Destroyer on Evans and climbed the ladder to grab his title.
Sami Zayn vs. trick williams
Sami Zayn defended his WWE United States Championship against Trick Williams, with Lil Hatchy. The new rising star and the Underdog from the Underground delivered an exceptional match. It came to a close after Williams countered Zayn in the corner and hit the Trick Shot for the win.
“The Demon” Finn Balor vs. Dominic Mysterio
Finn Balor brought back his alter-ego, The Demon King, to battle Dominik Mysterio in a Street Fight. Balor clearly handed the upper hand throughout the match and ended with a victory after delivering a Coup de Grâce through the table on Mysterio.
Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley
Rhea Ripley challenged Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship. The match saw interference from Cargill’s allies, B-Fab and Michin, but was neutralized by Ripley’s ally, IYO Sky. In the end, Ripley snuck out of a Jaded attempt and planted Cargill with the Riptide to win the match and become the new champion.
Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk
The main event of the night saw CM Punk defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns. It was one of the most captivating main events in WrestleMania history. Both men inflicted major damage on each other as the World title hung in the balance.
