Actor Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni, who will be seen as Aradhya in Prateek Sharma’s new show Tum Dena Sath Mera, says that her career choices are driven by purpose, not pressure. She is known for her versatility and always tries to pick roles that have depth and dignity, rather than just looking good on the surface.“I am very conscious about the kind of characters I choose,” Aishwarya shares. “I make sure I don’t take up roles that involve bold or overly explicit portrayals. I believe in maintaining a certain dignity in my work, and I prefer roles that have substance rather than just glamor or shock value.”The actor says she hasn’t really had trouble with repetitive roles. “Luckily, I haven’t faced that issue because I’m quite versatile. I can play a simple, innocent ‘bechari,’ take on negative shades, and even portray strong mythological characters. That range naturally brings variety and helps me avoid repetition,” she explains.Aishwarya is open to trying new things, but only if they fit her values. “Yes, I do believe in taking up roles that challenge me, but they should also connect with me on a personal level. It’s important that the character contributes to my growth and resonates with the audience in the right way,” she says.Aishwarya believes it’s important to keep changing in the fast-moving film industry. “Audiences always want to see something fresh. I consciously explore different genres and characters with varied emotional graphs. At the same time, I stay true to my core values while experimenting,” she adds.She also shares that she has turned down projects to avoid being stuck in one type of role. “Yes, many times. I have refused negative roles because I know I would perform them convincingly, and that might lead to typecasting. I don’t want to limit myself when I know I can do so much more,” she states.Aishwarya believes in balancing audience expectations and creative satisfaction. “It’s about finding the right balance. I respect the love I get from my audience, but I also believe in evolving. I choose roles that are different yet relatable, so I can grow without disconnecting from them,” she concludes.
