Lucknow: Popping a surprise in political circles, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday called upon BJP MLA Anupama Jaiswal who is undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow to inquire about her health. She had suffered facial burns while burning Akhilesh’s effigy during a protest in Bahraich on April 25.“We don’t want to see the society on fire, we want drizzles of harmony instead. This is one of the lessons that the healthy traditions of our constructive politics has taught us. This was the reason why I visited BJP MLA Anupama Jaiswal and prayed for her speedy recovery. Politics and importance of human obligations can co-exist. (May) Harmony and amity prevail,” he wrote in a post in Hindi on X.Hours after the BJP MLA had suffered burns, Akhilesh had tweeted a video of the incident urging the govt to ensure proper medical care of party functionaries who get injured in such accidents.
