Assam Rifles recruitment 2026: : Assam Rifles has invited offline applications for recruitment under the Compassionate Ground Appointment Scheme 2026. The recruitment drive is intended for dependent family members of Assam Rifles personnel who were killed in action, died during service, were medically discharged, or went missing while serving. The last date to submit applications is May 11, 2026.The Office of the Director General Assam Rifles, Shillong, issued the notification on April 6, 2026. A total of 117 vacancies have been announced across multiple trades, including Rifleman General Duty, Clerk and technical posts. Candidates are required to send their completed application forms through offline mode within the prescribed deadline.Vacancy details across multiple tradesAmong the advertised vacancies, 95 posts are available for Rifleman or Riflewoman General Duty. Other openings include six posts for Warrant Officer Cipher and three posts for Havildar Clerk. Vacancies have also been announced for trades such as Electrical Fitter Signal, Lineman Field, Armourer, Recovery Vehicle Mechanic, Electrician Mechanic Vehicle, Metalsmith, Mason, Store Keeper Technical, Vehicle Mechanic and Engineer Equipment Mechanic.The recruitment rally is scheduled to take place in July or August 2026 at Lokrha in Assam. Exact rally dates will be communicated to candidates through registered email or post.Eligibility and age criteriaApplicants must be dependent family members of Assam Rifles personnel belonging to specified service categories. These include personnel killed in action, those who died while in service, those discharged on medical grounds and personnel reported missing during service. Only one dependent family member from each eligible case is permitted to apply.The age limit varies according to the post and ranges between 18 and 23 years or 25 years. The cut-off date for age calculation is January 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided according to prescribed rules.Candidates applying for the recruitment process must have passed Class 10. Additional trade certificates, ITI qualifications or diplomas are required for relevant technical posts.Application process and required documentsApplicants must submit self-attested copies of educational certificates, domicile certificate, caste certificate, trade certificate, and valid photo identity proof along with the application form. Accepted identity documents include Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID and driving license.The application envelope must carry the words “APPLICATION FOR COMPASSIONATE GROUND APPOINTMENT”.
