Gurgaon: A 40-year-old man died after his motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle near the KMP toll plaza in the Bilaspur area late Saturday night.The victim, Mahender, was a resident of Hayatpur. Police said he was returning from Agra after meeting a friend.According to the complaint filed by Mahender’s brother, the accident took place around 12.30am when Mahender was entering the highway from the Jaipur-side cut near the toll. The complainant, who saw the collision, alleged that the vehicle, coming from Gurgaon, was being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner.“The collision threw the victim onto the road, causing severe injuries. He was taken to a private hospital in Manesar, where he died during treatment,” an officer said.Police said the driver fled the spot after the accident and the complainant could not note down the vehicle’s registration number.After receiving information from the hospital, a police team reached the facility and later shifted the body to the civil hospital mortuary.Based on the complaint, a case was registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death by negligence) of BNS at Bilaspur police station. Police said CCTV footage from nearby areas is being scanned to identify the vehicle involved.In another case, a 15-year-old Class 9 student from Mokalwas village alleged that a villager hit him with a car and fled despite his injuries.Rajeev told police that he was riding his scooter towards Pachgaon Chowk market on May 6 when the incident took place near the KMP bridge at Pukharpur around 1pm.According to the complaint, Rajeev had stopped near the roadside when a car coming from Pachgaon Chowk hit him. The boy alleged that the driver, identified as Rajkumar from the same village, was intoxicated at the time.Police said the accident left both his legs fractured and damaged the scooter. He was first admitted to a private hospital in Manesar and later shifted to SGT Hospital in Chandu Budhera.After recording the victim’s statement on May 10, police registered a case under sections 125(b) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 281 of BNS.
