NEW DELHI: West Bengal delivered a historic verdict on Monday as BJP is set to secure its first-ever assembly election victory in the state, ending chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s 15-year rule and breaking the Trinamool Congress stronghold.The results come after a record voter turnout of 92.47%, reflecting a highly charged and closely watched election. The BJP’s campaign slogan “Bhoy out, Bharosa in” appeared to resonate with voters, overtaking the TMC’s long-standing “Maa maati manush” narrative.Counting of votes began at 8 am across 77 centers under tight security, covering 293 of the 294 Assembly seats.
