Gaya: CM Samrat Choudhary on Friday announced plans to establish a world-class museum in Gaya, aimed at showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. The announcement was made during the inauguration of a seminar-cum-cultural awareness program organized at the Bodh Gaya Math on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti. The seminar, titled ‘Religious Coordination in the Indian Tradition’, marked the rare Lord Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and salvation occurring on the same day and month.Addressing the gathering, the CM said the proposed museum would reflect the “glorious legacy of Indian civilization” and serve as a major cultural attraction. Emphasizing inclusive development, Chaudhary asserted that his government is committed to “development with justice,” ensuring no discrimination against any section of society.Referring to Sanatan traditions, the CM said they represent the highest degree of tolerance and coexistence. He also spoke about historical foreign invasions and highlighted India’s resilience in preserving its distinct cultural identity. The CM reiterated his commitment to continue the developmental initiatives of former CM Nitish Kumar, particularly in infrastructure and governance. “Good governance will remain the hallmark of Bihar,” he said, crediting previous efforts for laying a strong foundation for the state’s progress.Highlighting the historical and spiritual importance of the region, Chaudhary remarked that few places in the world are as blessed as Gaya, given its association with both Goddess Sita and Lord Buddha. “This land represents a confluence of salvation and wisdom,” he noted.Outlining future development plans, the CM referred to the proposed 1,700-acre industrial corridor and the 22,000-acre Magadh satellite city project. He expressed confidence that these initiatives would significantly boost Bihar’s economic trajectory, adding that investments worth Rs5 lakh crore are expected in the state before November 20, 2026.On education, Chaudhary stressed the need for a common school system through “modern schools” that would bring children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds under one roof to ensure quality education for all. He also announced that government contracts up to Rs50 crore would be awarded to local youth to curb migration and promote employment within the state.Addressing governance challenges, the CM assured speedy resolution of public grievances, particularly land-related disputes. He stated that action would begin with the removal of illegal encroachments from the Bodh Gaya Math land. Warning officials against delays and negligence, he directed that all public complaints must be resolved within 30 days. The event was attended by several prominent figures, including assembly Speaker Prem Kumar, Ven Pragya Deep, general secretary of the Monk Association, and Swami Vivekanand Giri of the Bodh Gaya-based Shankaracharya Math. Earlier in the day, the CM offered prayers at the Vishnupad temple and the Mahabodhi temple, the site of Buddha’s enlightenment.
