Daltonganj: own police have launched a special drive against the use of black films on all windows of cars, following orders from Palamu SP Kapil Chaudhary.Officials said that as per court orders, such films are generally banned in vehicles. “It is legal only if the front and rear windows of the cars allow 70% and side windows 50% light,” said an official. The drive began on Monday and will continue, he added.On the first day, films were scraped off a few vehicles, including an SUV belonging to civil society activist Raju Tirkey. Police didn’t impose fines but drivers were warned. Officer in-charge of Town police station, Jyoti Lal Rajwar, said gradually fines will be slapped if vehicle owners don’t remove them.
