While delivering a speech on Friday night to a Palm Beach-area crowd, Trump recalled facing pressure to adopt a pet during his first term in the White House in 2017. “You know, they all wanted me to buy a dog when I went to the White House.”He added, “They said, sir, you’ll be the first president in 68 years who doesn’t have a dog. I said it’s not going to work for me.”President Trump was the special guest at the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches’ annual dinner, held in West Palm Beach.
