Can't break laws to push projects: Ferdino Rebello

Bicholim: Former chief justice of Allahabad high court of the Enough is Enough movement said that the group is not against development, but is opposed to those who bend and break laws to push projects.“We are not against any individual, a political party or development,” said Rebello at a public meeting in Karapur on Sunday. The meeting was called against a mega project planned in the village.Rebello said the first chief minister of Goa, Bhausaheb Bandodkar, made laws to ensure that eco-zones were protected. But the laws are not being enforced in the right spirit, he added.“Today, concrete jungles are being built in the name of development. They will destroy our lands,” said Ajay Prabhugaonkar, an activist.Another activist, Sammer Govekar, alleged the land was fraudulently allotted to the project proponent.
