Marga: A 10-month-old Viraj Vadar drowned in a bucket of water at his house in Gudi, Paroda, on Saturday evening. The tragedy occurred in the brief moments his mother stepped away. Quepem PI Prashal Dessai said the family stays in a rented room, with the father employed at a stone crusher unit. On Saturday, the father had left for work, while the couple’s two other children, a 3-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, had gone out to play.The mother had gone to use the washroom, and when she returned a few minutes later, she found Viraj face-down in a bucket of water kept just outside. The infant was rushed to Quepem Primary Health Centre, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police have registered the case as an unnatural death.
