The country is seen as a key gateway for India to South East Asia. The navies of the two countries also share a warm relationship. Myanmar’s navy takes part in key Indian Naval initiatives such as the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium, MILAN, International Fleet Review, Goa Maritime Conclave, IOS SAGAR and the Admiral’s Cup.Admiral Tripathi’s four-day visit underscores defense ties between the two countries through high-level talks, naval command engagements and symbolic gestures.
