NFL Trade Rumors: Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns linked in bold move for explosive defender Arvell Reese
The Dallas Cowboys are exploring a trade-up scenario with the Cleveland Browns to secure top defensive prospect Arvell Reese. With elite defenders expected to go early, Dallas may package picks to move up. Reese’s versatility and explosiveness make him a prime target as the Cowboys aim to rebuild their struggling defense.

The Dallas Cowboys are once again circling the draft board with urgency, and this time, the focus is clear. After a disappointing defensive showing last season, the front office appears ready to be aggressive rather than patient. Sitting at no. 12, Dallas risks missing out on the elite defensive talent expected to vanish early. That reality has sparked serious internal discussions about trading up, even if it means parting with valuable assets.Momentum is building around a bold move, and the name gaining traction is Arvell Reese. The Ohio State standout has quickly become one of the most talked-about prospects in this class. With rare versatility and explosive traits, he fits the mold of the kind of defensive difference-maker Dallas desperately needs. The question is not about talent, but whether the Cowboys can position themselves high enough to secure him.

Cowboys eye aggressive move for defensive game-changer

League insider Albert Breer shed light on Dallas’ intentions, pointing to Reese as a key target. Speaking on a podcast, Breer said: “I know Dallas is one team that a lot of teams have talked about potentially moving up. Now, what would that be for? One name that has been thrown around, at least with me, is Arvell Reese. And I think part of the reason why is because he’s got the off the ball/on the ball capability.“You might see him like a Micah Parsons type of prospect, not that he’s gonna be Micah out of the box or anything like that. But he profiles the same sort of way just as far as what he could potentially bring to the table. So, I would say at this point, a week to go, a lot more teams looking to move down.”That comparison to Micah Parsons alone explains the excitement. Reese brings positional flexibility, lining up as both a traditional linebacker and an edge threat. Scouts see a player who can disrupt offenses in multiple ways, a trait that holds massive value in today’s NFL.What strengthens Dallas’ position is the current draft climate. Several teams in the top seven are reportedly open to trading down, creating what Breer described as a “buyer’s market.” That could allow the Cowboys to move up without sacrificing both first-round picks, instead crafting a smarter package built around No. 12 and additional assets.
