New Delhi: The family of Pandav Kumar, the 21-year-old delivery executive who died after he was shot allegedly by a head constable of Delhi Police’s special cell on Sunday, plans to move court for justice.The accused, identified as Neeraj Balhara, was arrested near Rohtak in Haryana late on Sunday evening. Kumar had returning from a birthday party along with another youth, who was also injured.The friends and family of Kumar took out a candle march and visited local Bindapur police station on Monday. The incident had taken place in the jurisdiction of Jaffarpur Kalan police station.Rahul, a cousin of the deceased, said, “Around 100 of us carried a massive banner and marched to our local police station. The officer there assured me that the accused had been arrested and our injured friend Krishan is receiving proper treatment. We want justice for Kumar.”The posters carried during the march had slogans like “Rakshaak becomes Bhakshak” (protector became destroyer). Eyewitnesses have claimed that Kumar was murdered after he got into a heated altercation with the cop over his Bihari identity. Police have said they were investigating the claim.Rahul said they had spoken to a local advocate to move court. The family is planning to hold another march on Tuesday morning, he added.Kumar is survived by his parents, elder sister and younger brother. He was the sole breadwinner for the family. Both the mother and the younger brother are suffering from tuberculosis and undergoing treatment.
