Jaipur: Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee will organize match referee workshop and examination in May 2026, taking an important initiative towards making cricket operations more professional, transparent and effective under the aegis of Rajasthan Cricket Association in the state.According to ad hoc committee convener Dr Mohit Jaswant Yadav, the objective of our committee is to make the quality of sports facilities, discipline among players and the responsibilities of match officials better and more effective during the conduct of RCA’s domestic season cricket activities and state level competitions, by providing an opportunity to contribute to the development of the state’s cricket by making maximum use of their experience.According to RCA ad hoc panel member Arisht Singhvi, three nominations (two men and one woman) have been invited from each district cricket association for the RCA panel match referee workshop and examination to be conducted by the RCA. All district associations have been directed to submit their applications in the prescribed format, including their name and a copy of their Aadhaar card, to the RCA by May 14, 2026.Eligibility for male categoryRepresented in Ranji Trophy/Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy/Under-23 CK Nayudu Trophy and played minimum 5 multi-day matches.Must have retired from active cricket at least 5 years before the domestic season 2026-27.Age should be less than 45 years as on May 31, 2026.Eligibility for women categoryMust have represented senior BCCI women’s cricket and played a minimum of 5 matches.Must have retired from active cricket at least 5 years before the domestic season 2026-27.Age should be less than 45 years as on May 31, 2026.All nominated candidates will be required to have general knowledge of MS Office, email and mobile operation and working knowledge of English language as the match referee report will be submitted in English.The RCA is making the role of match referees more responsible and effective. Match referees will now submit detailed reports to the RCA on key tasks such as ground and venue conditions, the quality of arrangements made by the host association, ensuring overs are completed on time, enforcing penalties, monitoring disciplinary matters, and compiling umpire reports.Through this new system, RCA aims to ensure better discipline, accountability and high level cricket operations in state cricket.
