Lucknow: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday stressed the need for making people ‘Gau Bhakt’ (cow devotee) to curb cow slaughter.Speaking at an event organized at Malook Peeth to commemorate the 452nd birth anniversary of Malook Das, a 16th-century seer known for his teachings on non-duality and devotion, Bhagwat said the people who were in power wanted to do so but they were “facing problems”.“For this, the society needs to come forward and cooperate to achieve the desired objective,” he said. The RSS chief said that the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya could be achieved only after people’s sentiments got associated with the project. Likewise, the issue of cow protection can be addressed only when people get associated with it psychologically.Bhagwat said that it was now time for ‘Bharat’ to emerge as a ‘Vishwa Guru’ and lead the world. For this, seers and Sangh will have to join hands. “Seers would do their job while Sangh would play the role of a protector,” he said. The RSS chief said that the nature of society will have its bearing on the country. He said that the society would have to follow the path shown by the seers.
