Palanpur: : Two persons were killed and another sustained serious injuries after a high-speed motorcycle collided with an autorickshaw near Shankeshwar-Ratanpura Patia in Patan district late on Saturday night.The accident took place around 10.30pm near Sakthi Ma Na Mandir. According to police, the rickshaw was transporting vegetables, while the motorcycle riders were reportedly on their way to attend a marriage function.The impact of the collision was so severe that both the bike and the rickshaw were extensively damaged.Shankeshwar police inspector PV Vasava said rickshaw driver Kaduji Thakor, 20, and biker Ranjitji Thakor, 25, died on the spot after suffering fatal injuries in the crash.A third person, identified as Kalpesh Thakor, 23, who was riding pillion on the motorcycle, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Patan. Police said his condition was stable, though he remains under treatment.Police shifted the bodies for post-mortem and have initiated further investigation into the accident.
