The long wait for one of boxing’s biggest fights may finally be moving forward. Eddie Hearn has shared a fresh update about a possible clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. He said a rough plan is already in place, with a potential date being discussed behind the scenes.Right now, nothing is signed. But for the first time in a while, there is a clear direction. The idea is simple. Joshua returns first with a smaller fight, then steps into the ring with Fury later this year. If everything goes as planned, fans could finally see this long-awaited fight happen in November.
Eddie Hearn explains Anthony Joshua comeback plan before Tyson Fury mega fight
Speaking on Matchroom Boxing’s YouTube channel, Eddie Hearn made it clear what Anthony Joshua wants next. He said, “My instructions (from Joshua) are ‘make the (Fury) fight.’” That has been the goal for a long time.Hearn also revealed that this fight was very close to happening earlier. Around the time of Jake Paul‘s recent fight, talks had nearly reached the finish line. He explained, “We all know that, around the (time of the) Jake Paul fight, the fight was virtually done.”Back then, the plan looked very different. Joshua was expected to fight in March as a warm-up and then face Fury in August. But things changed quickly after a serious car crash in Nigeria last December. The accident deeply affected Joshua, as he lost two close friends, Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami.Because of that, everything was pushed back. Hearn admitted it has been a difficult period. Still, he believes the same plan can work now, just on a new timeline. There is also financial backing involved. Hearn mentioned an offer from Turki Alalshikh that lays out a clear path. He said, “The offer that we received from Turki Alalshikh is to fight in July and fight Tyson Fury around November. We’re up for that.”That means Joshua could return this summer, get back into rhythm, and then step into the biggest fight of his career a few months later. On the other side, Tyson Fury is ready. He has made it clear he wants this fight next and is not looking for delays. So now, it comes down to timing, final agreements, and both teams staying on track. For fans, this is the closest the fight has felt in years.
