UP's renewable energy push highlighted

TNNLucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s renewable energy initiatives received notable attention during the 18th Civil Services Day held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.In a thematic breakaway session titled “Accelerating India’s Net-Zero Path through PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana,” the state’s implementation model was highlighted as an example for other regions.Secretary of the department of land resources and former additional chief secretary in Uttar Pradesh’s energy, Narendra Bhushan, participated as a panellist.He outlined the state’s progress in renewable energy and shared operational insights into the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Uttar Pradesh currently holds a leading position nationally in rooftop solar adoption.Bhushan said the state has made rapid strides in the renewable energy sector, with rooftop solar installations gaining record momentum in recent months. He noted that simplifying citizen processes, strengthening supply capacity and ensuring transparent implementation have been central to expanding the scheme’s reach.Officials emphasized that digital platforms and real-time monitoring systems adopted in Uttar Pradesh have helped streamline the delivery of scheme benefits. A statewide campaign to promote the concept of “Solar for Every Home” has further accelerated the installation of rooftop solar systems.
