Where is Sanjita Kumari? Jharkhand police under pressure to find missing girl; DGP reviews case amid High Court deadline

Gumla: A day after Jharkhand high court set a two-week deadline for the state govt to trace the minor girl from Gumla district who has been missing since September 2018, DGP Tadasha Mishra arrived here and reviewed the investigation into the case.The girl, Sanjita Kumari, is a resident of Khora-Jamtoli village under Sadar police station limits. A case was registered with the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the district on February 6, 2020 in this regard.Mishra spoke to the girl’s mother, who had filed a habeas corpus with the HC, in a closed room for over two hours. Gumla SP Haris Bin Zaman and Chainpur sub-divisional police officer Shruti were also present.“A lot of work has been done in this case for a long time. But unfortunately, nothing has so far been unearthed. Today we have conducted a detailed review of the case. We spoke to the complainant, relatives of the girl and the villagers and took their statements. Some conclusions have emerged and police will work on the same,” Mishra said.In a statement, the district police said, “On the request of SP, ADG (CID) in Ranchi has shot at Hue & Cry Notice with photograph and full details of the girl to the DGPs and IGs of all states for her recovery.”
