In 2025, Akshay Khanna made it to the big screen as Rehman Dakait in ‘Dhurandhar’; it wasn’t easy for anyone to take their eyes off the actor. However, did you know that there is an artist from the Bollywood industry, whom Akshay keeps staring at like a ‘lunatic’? She is none other than his ‘Taal’ co-star, the beauty of B-town, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
When ‘Dhurandhar’ actor Akshay Khanna admitted he couldn’t take his eyes off Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
This confession dates back to 2017, when Akshaye Khanna, along with Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra, was promoting his movie ‘Ittefaq.’ The cast was in conversation with Karan Johar, who, in a candid moment, asked Akshaye who he finds the most stunning in the business. Khanna, in an instant, replied, “Ash (Aishwarya Rai)” before praising the actor.“I can’t take my eyes off her every time I meet her,” he admitted, heaping praise on the ‘Jodha Akhbar’ star. He added that no one has this kind of effect on Akshaye, but when it comes to Aishwarya, he just keeps staring at her. He confessed, “It’s embarrassing for men. She must be used to it (people staring at her). But I’m not used to not being able to take my eyes off somebody.”“You just keep staring at her like a lunatic,” Akshaye mentioned.Sonakshi Sinha also chimed in and said, “Not only guys. Even I am not able to take my eyes off her. She is damn stunning.”
Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s movies
Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have so far done two movies together. They graced the big screen with Rishi Kapoor’s ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ and Subhash Ghai’s ‘Taal’. While the former didn’t perform exceptionally at the box office, the latter brought them immense love, owing to the unmatched chemistry.
Akshaye Khanna and the ‘Dhurandhar’ success
Akshaye Khanna is one of the artists who has always been praised for bringing his best foot forward with every character. Yet, there have been times when his work didn’t get much attention. However, that changed first with ‘Chaava’, where he essayed the role of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, and then with ‘Dhurandhar’, where he played Lyari’s underworld leader Rehman Dakait. Despite being the antagonist in the movie, Akshaye garnered immense love and appreciation from the audience and critics alike.
