VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh is exploring a strategic collaboration with Israel to strengthen water resource management and promote innovation-driven solutions. Science City of AP CEO Venkateswarlu Kesineni held crucial discussions with Noa Amsalem, Water Attaché at MASHAV (International Development Cooperation), Embassy of Israel on Wednesday. The meeting outlined a roadmap for long-term cooperation in sustainable water systems and scientific education. Science City CEO Venkateswarlu set his focus on technology transfer, student engagement, and a proposed water resource museum during the discussions. Kesineni detailed the state’s ongoing initiatives under Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, highlighting structured programs from school to university level aimed at building scientific temper, encouraging sustainable practices, and addressing water-related challenges. The programs emphasize experiential learning and integration of emerging technologies to equip students with practical problem-solving skills. Amsalem appreciated the state government’s forward-looking approach, particularly the emphasis on hands-on learning and innovation. She expressed keen interest in facilitating technical collaboration and knowledge exchange in advanced water management systems to support state’s development priorities. Stressing the importance of early awareness, she said students should be exposed to real-world water challenges from a young age and encouraged to develop innovative solutions. She pointed to emerging technologies such as atmospheric water generation and advanced storage systems as key to ensuring long-term water security, suggesting their inclusion in academic frameworks. Amsalem also indicated readiness to support the establishment of a dedicated water resource museum or Innovation Center in the state, potentially with funding assistance. She further proposed organizing structured hackathons and innovation challenges across educational institutions to drive youth participation in solving water-related issues through technology. Kesineni said the proposals would be submitted to higher authorities for consideration and necessary action. He expressed optimism about building a strong partnership with Israel to enhance research, innovation, and capacity building in water management. Both sides agreed to pursue sustained collaboration in the sector.
