Akshay Kumar is now re-uniting with Priyadarshan after 14 years. The actor-director duo have given some iconic movies to the audience, including ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. Vidya Balan’s portrayal of Manjulika in the film left audiences thoroughly spooked when the film released and its impact seems to have lasted far beyond the screen. Even Akshay Kumar’s son Aarav wasn’t immune to the chilling effect of the horror-comedy.In a recent interview, while promoting his film ‘Bhooth Bangla’, Akshay shared a surprising anecdote about his son Aarav’s reaction to the film. He revealed during a chat with HT City, “I was talking to my son recently, he told me that when he saw Bhool Bhulaiyaa for the first time, he couldn’t speak to Vidya Balan for six years! She came home, he was not ready to meet her once, he was not ready even to look into her eyes. I had to nurture and tell him for six years ‘Yeh Vidya Balan hai beta, yeh bahot achhi hai’ He said ‘no dad, I don’t want to meet her’ He had got scarred!”The 2007 psychological thriller saw Vidya play Avni, a woman believed to be possessed by a spirit haunting an old haveli. As the story unfolds, her condition is revealed to be dissociative identity disorder, making her performance both haunting and layered. Her portrayal of the complex character earned widespread acknowledgment and remains one of the most memorable aspects of the film. Vidya was also seen in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ which also starred Madhuri Dixit and Kartik Aaryan. Meanwhile, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ is set to release on April 16.
