In a 2024 interview with Hauterrfly, Janhvi spoke about her mother’s refusal to accept that her daughters were growing up. When asked who introduced her to her first bra Janhvi said, “No, that mama did. That’s taken care of from there. She was in denial that her girls were growing up for a very long time. She’s just a kid. She doesn’t need these things. So, yeah. I was like, I think I need it mom. Like, I really think I do.” Janhvi also reflected on the strong support Boney Kapoor Gave Sridevi during their marriage. She revealed that Sridevi voluntarily stepped away from films after Janhvi was born. According to Janhvi, Boney later encouraged her to return to acting once the children were older. “She gave up her career when she had me. She didn’t want to work on her own. Because she thought that I worked for so many years. In fact, Papa was the one who was like, the kids have grown up now. And you get so much happiness from work. I will take care of them.
