Khushi Dubey shares heartwarming Mother's Day story; credits mom for her success: 'She Always Stood By Me'

There’s something very rooted about the way Khushi Dubey speaks about her journey. Over the years, she has quietly built a career by choosing roles that feel different, whether it’s on television, films, or OTT. But behind that steady growth is a strong support system – her mother, who continues to be her biggest strength.Opening up about a special memory from her childhood on Mother’s Day, Khushi went back to a memory from when she was in sixth grade. “I remember I was probably in my 6th grade when I planned a surprise for my mum. I had decorated the entire house with posters of her life — from her days as an MBA lecturer at MNNIT, her college pictures, our family moments, even photos with my Nana-Nani back in Allahabad. I made a really big card for her and wrote a poem too. When she walked in, there was confetti everywhere, and the poem was playing loudly on a speaker. She got very emotional. I think that’s one of the most special Mother’s Day surprises I’ve ever given her,” she shared. For Khushi, her mother isn’t just family – she’s her biggest influence. She spoke about growing up as a bright student while also chasing acting from a very young age, and how her mother always encouraged her to give her best, no matter what path she chose.“She has always told me one thing – whatever you do, do it with all your heart. Give your 200%, without thinking too much about the result. And she made me understand very early that there is no shortcut to success. You have to take every step and climb your way up,” Khushi said.Beyond ambition and hard work, what has stayed with her the most are the softer values. She described her mother as someone extremely kind and forgiving, even in situations where she could have reacted differently. According to Khushi, watching her handle people with patience and grace has shaped her own personality in a big way. When asked if her mother influenced her decision to become an actor, Khushi was clear that the choice was always hers. But she also admitted that her journey would have been very different without her mother’s constant presence.“She never pushed me into acting, but she has been the biggest part of my journey. Since I started as a child artist, she would take me to auditions, be there on sets, and even teach me when I missed school. I remember during Naaginn, the script had a lot of pure Hindi and Sanskrit shlokas, and she would sit with me and explain everything. She has dedicated so much of her life to helping me build my career,” she shared. She added that her mother has always been more like a friend – someone who understood her choices and stood by her without being restrictive. Whether it was personal decisions or professional risks, Khushi says she always knew her mother had her back.
